It's all about the swing!

I love this wee leopard swing number I picked up from Boohoo. I think it was about 15 quid so an absolute bargain too! I love the way it can be dressed up or down - the saving grace of being able to buy clothes whilst living in the most expensive city in the world!

Be sure to give me a follow on Instagram as I'm now a part of the iPhone club woo: EmsGloriousGarments...

Style icon of the moment: Amy Adams in American Hustle

Have you seen American Hustle yet? A great script, lots of funny moments and a scene stealing role from Jennifer Lawrence makes it a must see movie. However, for me the best thing about this movie is Amy Adams wardrobe in the film. At the moment I am loving a 60s/70s vibe channeling Lana Del Rey make up and now I'm tempted to get some American Hustle inspiration in my wardrobe too.

Just look at these outfits, how amazing are they!

They remind me so much of my nan's style back in the day which can only be a good thing. I may swerve the navel gazing but give me floppy hats, chunky necklaces and wrap dresses anytime.

Fluff, fluff everywhere!

For any readers of my previous post on my marabou fur feather earrings you may get the feeling I am loving all things fluff at the moment. I think it's a big trend for Spring/Summer 2014 and one I am jumping on the bandwagon early on. Go me.

Popstar Pixie Lott illustrates this trend well by combining feather accents with baby pink, the ultimate colour of the season. I'm not a huge pink fan but I did purchase some sport-luxe baby pink trousers recently which I'll share a photo of shortly (I intend to do a post soon on all my recent outfits, of which there are many!)

I love this Moschino Chic and Cheap short suit, what a belter of an outfit *swoooon* I also love these fluffy stilletos and this is definitely giving me the inspiration to take an old pair of heels and spread them in Big Bird loving...I love this trend!

Isabella Blow at Somerset House

As an avid Isabella Blow fan since my early teens, I'm mad keen to go to this soon, living in London really does open you up to lots of wonderful events and things to see!

If you get the chance go go go and if not, check out her covetable hat collection online. She really was a one off!

Pom poms

Happy New Year bloggersphere! This year's goals include revamping this site, purchasing a DSLR camera and explore new parts of London by moving to another part of the city and throwing myself off the beaten track. Not to mention travel and see the world a bit more - Greece and Vietnam are already on the agenda and it's only 5th January. Any suggestions on these places welcome!

So on to a wee outfit post...

As any readers of my blog may know I am a huge hair accessory fiend and if I don't have a hairpiece on I try to overcompensate with my jewellery. At the moment I am loving this wee pom pom number (note, feel like a Mexican bride) from ASOS, so much so I went back and bought the whole range including the pom pom ears:

The dress is also ASOS and is a great throw and go outfit which can be glammed up or dressed down. I went for a smart casual (smasual) look for that day. This headband is limited edition but I've linked the one that isn't in case this one sells out. Apologies for the rather crap photos - really need to up my game in this department hence why I need that DSLR.

Hope you enjoy rocking the pom pom trend as much as I do!

Check out my ear muffs

I recently purchased THE Henry Holland fluffy earrings in blue. A bargain gift for myself, £30 reduced from £100 I couldn't resist despite proclamations from the BF that they resembled a famous cartoons nether regions.

I love a ridiculous accessory or two and if I'm not donning a hairpiece I'll don ridiculous costume jewellery. I'm currently loving 60s make-up so went for that and a simple black capelet dress. Ok don't judge me I loved the capelet so much I went and bought in it other colours. But it was from Ebay and very cheap so it's all ok!!!

Here's me posing and here is how the models looked. A stark difference as I ain't no model but I did quite like being reminded on Saturday night on a night out in Central London that my ears would stay warm. It is winter after all!

It's time for a revamp!

Amongst work life, social life and being a twenty something in London life my wee blog has suffered a bit of a death the past few months. However time to get back on the blogging bandwagon!

So, what have I been loving lately?

1) Boohoo

I seem to spend oodles amount per month on this online fashion outlet. Cheap and cheerful, they have some really funky one off pieces on their site like the top I donned below to go to Floridita with my friends last week:

Boohoo top, vintage hat, crap photo.

2) Social media, social media:

As I grow tired of inane Facebook statuses I'm reigniting a forgotten love for Twitter and Instagram. Follow me on @emsgloriousgarments (Instagram) and Twitter @EmmaMartinRed

3 and 4) SOCKS and SANDALS (together, yes) and my new specs!

I got the 2 for 1 deal at Specsavers and love my new Osiris and Replay cats eyes I even ventured into wearing them outside my office and flat walls. Who would have thought:

Vintage hair bow and jumper, Replay specs, Primark trousers and socks, ASOS shoes

5) Online fashion zine Never Underdressed:

This may be a new addiction. Obsessed isn't the word. I also love their piece on red nail varnish, something I can never get enough of.

That's all for now, hope you enjoy reading my forgotten blog!
