I recently purchased THE Henry Holland fluffy earrings in blue. A bargain gift for myself, £30 reduced from £100 I couldn't resist despite proclamations from the BF that they resembled a famous cartoons nether regions.
I love a ridiculous accessory or two and if I'm not donning a hairpiece I'll don ridiculous costume jewellery. I'm currently loving 60s make-up so went for that and a simple black capelet dress. Ok don't judge me I loved the capelet so much I went and bought in it other colours. But it was from Ebay and very cheap so it's all ok!!!
Here's me posing and here is how the models looked. A stark difference as I ain't no model but I did quite like being reminded on Saturday night on a night out in Central London that my ears would stay warm. It is winter after all!

It's time for a revamp!
Amongst work life, social life and being a twenty something in London life my wee blog has suffered a bit of a death the past few months. However time to get back on the blogging bandwagon!
So, what have I been loving lately?
1) Boohoo
I seem to spend oodles amount per month on this online fashion outlet. Cheap and cheerful, they have some really funky one off pieces on their site like the top I donned below to go to Floridita with my friends last week:
2) Social media, social media:
As I grow tired of inane Facebook statuses I'm reigniting a forgotten love for Twitter and Instagram. Follow me on @emsgloriousgarments (Instagram) and Twitter @EmmaMartinRed
3 and 4) SOCKS and SANDALS (together, yes) and my new specs!
I got the 2 for 1 deal at Specsavers and love my new Osiris and Replay cats eyes I even ventured into wearing them outside my office and flat walls. Who would have thought:
5) Online fashion zine Never Underdressed:
This may be a new addiction. Obsessed isn't the word. I also love their piece on red nail varnish, something I can never get enough of.
That's all for now, hope you enjoy reading my forgotten blog!

Style crushin' on...Ashley Madakwe
What could be better than one of my favourite fashionistas off the telly (Revenge FYI) having her own personal style blog. Ring My Bell from London native, LA based actress Ashley Madakwe is my favourite to read or rather visually salivate over, as her clothes and styling are amazing.
A heady mix of designer and ye old high street makes for interesting and inspiring ensembles. I also sat watching videos on Youtube the other day as I actually want to be her friend, she seems so cool and down to earth, reaffirmed in that she has a blog and is charitable enough where to get her outfits from. I love the way she does glam and dressed down extremely well and something I am "trying" to learn as I love the idea of being dressed down with a quirky accessory or two and pulling out all the stops for an event or night out.
Here are my favourite Ashley Madakwe looks below...

The Mirror Sunglasses
I got mirrored circle sunglasses this weekend from Portabello Market for a bargainous 5 quid (Topshop had them for 20!). I can't wait to wear them probably with my black chiffon dress and polka dot platform trainers and hair buns. Yes that is the look.

Recycling Old Clothes # 1
Headband - Miss Selfridge circa 2007, Lipstick - Mac Ruby Woo |
Dress- Boohoo, cuff - H&M circa 2009 |
Wore these old clothes of mines out in Clapham on Saturday. After a very tight few months, I've resorted to recycling a lot of my old Uni clothes and have found some right wee gems.
Being sustainable and creating new outfits = happy me.

Carey Mulligan - US Vogue
I adore these images of Carey Mulligan in US Vogue. To celebrate the release of "Great Gatsby", one of my favourite novels of all time, Mulligan appears in the new edition draped in diamonds, oozing flapper girl style and class. I love these artistic images, and even better seeing the Brit actress in various Miu Miu, Chanel and Alexander McQueen pieces. I am now so excited for the release I may pee my pants with excitment...

Summer 2013 Aspirations
Super happy the sun is rearing its big head this week, LDN Town is positively tropical and I am LOVING IT...
Lately I've been taking style inspiration from the Spice Girls circa 1998 and donned these buns, 90s crop top and platform trainers for a walk along Regent's Canal yesterday, from Angel to Camden. I love London Summers.
On another note, I am also loving Crown and Glory headpieces at the moment. The online boutique offers a range of hair accessories from over sized bows to small, quirky accessories ideal for a Spring/Summer wedding to floral crowns. I own two crowns now, the dark red and pastel combo (thanks to one of my best friends for my birthday, see below) and intend on purchasing the cobalt blue for my summer adventures. Cobalt isn't a colour I wear to often but I'm keen to trial soon!
Get in on this little gem before it gets too popular.

Gold Bunny Ears
Hi guys!
As I turn the ripe old age of 25 tomorrow (eek!) I chose to celebrate last Saturday with all of my closest chums in London Town. One of the best nights ever, resulting in dancing to Five on my living room floor (again..this always happens!) we ended up in Dalston which was fun as always.
This is my birthday outfit (more pics to follow). My boyfriend bought me these gold bunny ears from Crown and Glory after I'd been harping on about them for about a month. They are completely mental but hey it was my birthday party and I can wear what I want! They come in a variety of colours however gold is one of my favourite colours so it was only fitting I wore this colour on my birthday.
I paired these with a lovely mint green dress from Boohoo with gold trimming and my mum's gold bracelet. I love Boohoo at the moment, my only criticism being is their packaging and branding makes it seems a little "cheap" when in fact in my opinion they produce really well made, fashion led items all at an affordable price. You can check out my wee dress here....
What do you think of my bunny ears? Mental...?!

London Life # 2
In my last post in the 'London Life' series, I covered art. This post is however, a little different...
In my pursuit to lose a bit (alot) of weight I have been on a healthy eating and exercise plan over the past month. I have actually discovered that I love exercising and found it to be a great way to socialise with my friends and lose weight NOT at the pub consuming loads of calories with too many Mojitos.
My favourite class I have attended so far was the 80s aerobics session at the FRAME exercise studio in Shoreditch. Based under the tunnels near Shoreditch High Street, this is one of those uber trendy, uber quirky gyms with an array of fun and interesting ways to lose the flab. Love it...
Attending the 80s aerobics session for an hour rendered me useless for the next few days and meant the BF had to do even more running about after me than he does already. A bit pricey at the £12 mark, I was initially a bit skeptical and thought this would have been very much a flash in the pan, once off thing to do. However, I'm already planning my next visit as it was such a different way to fight the flab and really enjoyable, with the hour flying by.
I would definitely recommend not only this class (what better way to exercise than to Flashdance?!) but the whole gym, you need only go once or twice a month. Their online top up wallet type system makes this really easy and is a really effective way to avoid the overpriced gym memberships in London.
For those in the East London area I would definitely check this place out. It's better for you than five pints on Curtain Road I tell ya!

Oscars 2013
Bit late to the party but I've been very poorly this week (damn ear infection) and what with being very busy at work (why do deadline always come at the same time?!) and finding a new flatmate, I don't have much time for the old blog.
SO here we go. My absolute FAVOURITE dress from this year's Oscars has to be Amy Adams in this dove grey/powdery blue evening gown by Oscar de la Renta. This dress is A-MAY-ZING. Do you recall the episode of Sex and the City when Carrie was in Paris on the bed in a "thousand layers"? This is like that dress. I may be jumping the gun here but this is my dream wedding dress...
Second best undoubtedly has to be Amanda Seyfried in her Alexander McQueen number. Another potential wedding fave...
All in all the Oscars was a bit like a wedding fare. Back in my interning days in Glasgow I used to help dress the models for shows with the Scottish Wedding Directory and nothing excited me more than touching an array of beautiful wedding dresses. OK they were a bugger to zip up and wrecked my nails in order to do the task at hand, dress the models, but I loved the whole experience.
I would have had an absolute field day of the same feeling if I was a dresser at this year's Oscars. Better add that to the mahusive 'List of things I really want to do but will likely never happen.'

Holly Fulton at London Fashion Week...
I am in love with Scots designer Holly Fulton's collection at LFW. The print...the colour....the mix of textiles (satin and fur FYI)...THE lipstick dress. I am in love.
I have loved Holly Fulton since the start of my PR career back in 2010, when I worked for one of Scotland's leading fashion PR agencies and got to actually manhandle and assist style her clothes for various fashion photo shoots we worked on. Safe to say my Fulton loving hasn't died, this collection is simply A-MAY-ZING...
